Dr. Patricia Luoto, G ’76
As an author, professor of consumer sciences and past
co-director of CELTSS at Framingham State University, Dr. Patricia Luoto has had a profound impact on the academic and professional development of faculty, librarians and students. Her work with CELTSS exemplifies her dedication to innovative pedagogy, faculty development and the advancement of scholarship. In 2015, she played a pivotal role as project director of the Framingham State Food Study, a groundbreaking research initiative in partnership with Boston Children’s Hospital that sought to answer critical questions about weight-loss maintenance and nutritional science. Beyond her academic achievements, Dr. Luoto has remained a steadfast advocate for community engagement.
